Night Houseman

The Night Houseman is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and safety of the hotel during overnight hours. This position performs traditional houseman duties while also conducting routine parking lot patrols and exterior security checks to help ensure a safe and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Essential Responsibilities

Housekeeping Support

• Maintain cleanliness of all public areas, including the lobby, hallways, restrooms, stairwells, elevators, and meeting spaces.
• Deliver linens, towels, amenities, cribs, rollaway beds, and guest requests promptly.
• Assist housekeeping staff with linen distribution, trash removal, and cleaning projects.
• Stock housekeeping closets and supply areas.
• Remove trash from public areas and designated back-of-house locations.
• Assist with deep cleaning projects as assigned.
• Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, and damaged equipment immediately.

Security & Parking Lot Patrols

• Conduct scheduled parking lot patrols throughout the overnight shift.
• Walk the hotel's exterior, entrances, and common areas to identify suspicious activity or safety concerns.
• Check parking lots for unauthorized individuals, suspicious vehicles, unsecured doors, lighting outages, and hazards.
• Help deter theft, vandalism, and other security concerns through a visible presence.
• Document each patrol in the property's security log, including times and observations.
• Report suspicious activity immediately to hotel management and local law enforcement when appropriate.
• Coordinate with contracted security personnel when necessary.
• Ensure guest entrances remain clean, well-lit, and free of hazards during patrols.
