Night Shift CNC Manager
Location: Newark, NJ – Headquarters
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 PM–3:00 AM
Compensation: $100,000-$120,000
Reports to: Director of Production
Why This Role Exists
We are looking for a strong production leader to take ownership of our night shift.
This role is less about being the strongest CNC technician in the building and more about being an effective manager who can lead people, maintain accountability, follow production closely, and make sure the shift operates safely and consistently.
You will lead a night-shift team of approximately 10–15 employees in a CNC-focused production environment.
What You Will Own
- Lead and manage approximately 10–15 night-shift production employees.
- Maintain clear expectations around productivity, attendance, safety, quality, and performance.
- Follow production throughout the shift and make sure daily output goals are achieved.
- Address performance, staffing, workflow, and operational issues as they arise.
- Maintain strong safety standards and reinforce safe operating practices.
- Ensure quality issues are identified and addressed quickly.
- Monitor production equipment and coordinate with Maintenance when downtime or equipment problems occur.
- Keep the team focused, productive, and accountable throughout the shift.
- Communicate clearly with Production leadership and the day shift regarding output, downtime, staffing, quality concerns, and outstanding issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve productivity, workflow, and overall shift performance.
- Develop employees and build greater accountability within the team.

- The night shift consistently meets production expectations.
- Employees understand what is expected and are held accountable.
- Safety and quality standards are maintained.
- Problems are handled quickly rather than left for the following shift.
- Production leadership has clear visibility into night-shift performance.
- Equipment, staffing, and production issues are escalated appropriately without unnecessary dependence on senior leadership.
- The team becomes stronger, more disciplined, and more self-sufficient over time.
What You Need
- 5+ years of manufacturing, production, or operations leadership experience.
- Experience directly managing production employees in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong people-management skills with the ability to coach, hold employees accountable, and handle difficult performance situations.
- Strong communication, judgment, and problem-solving ability.
- Experience managing production goals, quality, safety, staffing, and day-to-day execution.
- Ability to independently lead a night-shift operation.
- Comfortable working around CNC machinery, automated equipment, or other production equipment.
Preferred, Not Required
- CNC manufacturing experience.
- Cabinet, woodworking, automotive, metal fabrication, plastics, or other high-volume manufacturing experience.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
- Bilingual English/Spanish.
