Summary:

The No Bake Knockout role entails manually or mechanically removing chemically hardened sand molds and internal cores from solidified aluminum castings, using heavy vibratory equipment or pneumatic tools to break down the hardened sand.

This position may require access to export-controlled technology or software source code that is subject to export controls restrictions under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”) and will therefore be required to meet eligibility criteria under ITAR and EAR regulations.

Duties:

  • Moving molds with forklift
  • Rig mold with chains and strap for the crane system
  • Utilizing the vibratory deck, sledgehammer, and various other tools to separate the sand from the part
  • Cut off riser sleeves and dispose of
  • Place clean parts on skids
  • Blow off casting
  • Complete all associated paperwork
  • Enter data into computer
  • Perform PMs on equipment as required, including pit cleaning
  • Deliver completed castings to saw
  • Inspect crane system
  • Clean and maintain area
  • Attend production meetings
  • Reclaim all components used in the casting (chills, locators, etc.)
  • Complete department safety sheets
  • Verify serial numbers to paperwork
  • Perform other duties or assignments as directed by management

Education/Experience: 

No specific education or certification is required, however, high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is desired.

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

5:00 am - 1:30 pm (overtime may also be available after scheduled shift and/or on Saturdays)
