Job title: Infrastructure Engineer
Duration: 6 months
Location: Riverwoods, IL 

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Linux & MQ Administrator with hands-on experience managing Linux-based environments and message queue systems such as IBM WebSphere MQ and RabbitMQ. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and automating enterprise MQ infrastructures while ensuring system reliability, performance, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
Administer and support IBM WebSphere MQ and RabbitMQ environments across production and non-production systems.
Perform Linux server administration including system updates, patches, and upgrades.
Develop and maintain automation scripts using Shell scripting, Ansible, and Chef (migration/conversion).
Manage PKI certificates, including deployment, renewal, and troubleshooting.
Monitor MQ performance, queues, and channels, resolving incidents and optimizing configurations.
Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure secure, reliable message delivery.
Participate in daily Scrum meetings and on-call pager support rotation.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
3+ years of hands-on experience in Linux system administration (RHEL, CentOS, or similar).
Strong expertise with IBM WebSphere MQ and RabbitMQ administration.
Proficiency in Shell scripting for automation and maintenance tasks.
Experience with Ansible and Chef, including script conversion or migration.
Working knowledge of PKI certificate management and secure communication setup.
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and collaborative environments.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud-based MQ implementations (AWS MQ, Azure Service Bus, etc.).
Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Splunk, Nagios, Grafana).
Basic understanding of network and security fundamentals.
