The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary

The Department of Pediatrics at the Vagelos College of Physicians & Surgeons of Columbia University is a world leader in providing care for children. The Center for Early Relational Health (CERH) at Columbia University Irving Medical Center is dedicated to advancing science, practice, and policy that support the earliest relationships between infants, young children, and their caregivers. Through research, national initiatives, and collaborative partnerships, CERH works to promote healthy development and lifelong well-being.

The Short-Term Casual will provide short-term, project-based support to CERH's research and programmatic initiatives by assisting with data organization, data quality checks, and routine reporting tasks. Under the guidance of faculty and senior research staff, this role will support the maintenance of secure databases, help monitor data collection workflows, and assist in preparing basic summaries, reports, and visualizations. The Center for Early Relational Health (CERH) at Columbia University, as it expands nationally and underscores the importance of human connectedness, is currently searching for a Casual Worker. The casual role within the Combo/COMBO National, CERH Study research team is an integral part of our mission to advance scientific understanding in human connectedness including neurodevelopment, growth, maternal cognitive function, socioemotional function, and much more. Working under the supervision of senior researchers, the Casual worker will play a hands-on role in conducting experiments, collecting data, and assisting with the coordination of research activities.

Responsibilities

  • Code videos.
  • Recruit participants and obtain informed consent.
  • Program, manage and code data collection through REDCap.
  • Interact with study participants using English and Spanish (if applicable).
  • Clean and analyze study data.
  • IRB submission and management.
  • Conducts literature reviews.
  • Attends project meetings, area seminars, and other meetings as necessary
  • Performs related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or Equivalency required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual Spanish Native.

Other Requirements:

  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-offer and post-offer background checks in accordance with NYC's Fair Chance Act. Depending on the position, a drug screening and other verifications may be required. (University Policies)
  • Must successfully complete applicable compliance and systems training requirements.
  • HIPAA Privacy and Security Essentials Training
