The Black Hammock is a premier waterfront attraction on Lake Jesup featuring thrilling airboat rides, lakeside dining known for our famous fried gator tail and fresh Florida specialties, live alligators, exotic birds, and a lively gift shop. We’re seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations and help deliver outstanding guest experiences in this unique setting.

Role Overview: As General Manager, you will oversee all aspects of restaurant operations, ensuring excellence in service, food quality, and cleanliness while driving strong financial performance and building a positive, high-performing team culture. You will work closely with ownership to implement strategic plans and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate front-of-house and back-of-house teams to deliver consistent, high-quality guest experiences
• Monitor financial performance, manage budgets, control costs, and optimize labor and inventory
• Recruit, train, schedule, and develop team members; handle performance management and conflict resolution
• Support marketing initiatives and help grow the business
• Resolve guest concerns promptly and professionally
• Maintain full compliance with health, safety, and regulatory requirements
• Foster a positive, inclusive work environment and drive continuous operational improvement

Qualifications

• Proven experience in restaurant or hospitality management with responsibility for operations, staff leadership, and customer service
• Strong skills in budgeting, financial reporting, inventory control, and cost management
• Ability to lead, coach, and develop diverse teams
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of food safety, health amp; safety regulations, and hospitality compliance best practices
• Comfort with POS systems, scheduling software, and standard office applications
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Relevant education or training in hospitality management or business preferred but not required
