Job Summary
This position is full-time, 40 hrs, 3-13 hr shifts, D/E rotation, Mon-Sat
Massachusetts General Hospital's Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) play a critical role in advancing high-quality, patient-centered perioperative care. Within the PACU, APPs support a safe, inclusive, and clinically rigorous care environment grounded in excellence, inquiry, cultural competence, and the institution's commitment to patients and families.
The PACU has exciting growth opportunities in the short and long term with the expansion of MGH main campus, Philip and Susan Ragon building.
PACU Environment:
The Massachusetts General Hospital Post Anesthesia Care Units include seven critical care areas and one Short Stay Unit, providing specialized care for adult and pediatric patients before and immediately following surgery and procedures requiring anesthesia.
This complex, high-acuity environment requires strong clinical judgment, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the ability to contribute effectively across a broad range of surgical specialties. APPs work in partnership with experienced critical care clinicians and play an integral role in supporting operational continuity, patient safety, and exceptional care delivery.
Current Opportunity
The PACU currently has opportunities for Advanced Practice Providers with the experience, professionalism, and clinical expertise to support a high-performing perioperative care model. Ideal candidates are available for full-time schedules of 40 hours per week, composed of 13-hour day/evening shifts Monday through Saturday.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to patient outcomes, team effectiveness, and the continued advancement of PACU practice. We are seeking APPs who demonstrate clinical excellence, sound decision-making, professionalism, and a strong commitment to collaborative, patient-centered care.

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations.
