    Summary:

    The Advanced Practice Provider functions in collaborative practice with emergency medicine physicians in a high volume emergency department. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and interventions according to approved protocols and scope of practice. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet wellness and illness needs, up to and including hospital admission.

    Education and Experience

    Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

    Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered

    Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required. Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.

    OR

    Physician Assistants

    Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized area strongly preferred.

    Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification

    Advanced Practice Registered Nurses

    Current Texas professional registered nurse license

    Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license

    Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required.

    Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required

    Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required

    OR

    Physician Assistants

    Current Texas professional physician assistant license

    Certified as a PA-C

    Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required

    Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
