Nuclear Engineer - Reactor Physics

Role & Responsibilities

We are seeking a senior Nuclear Engineer - Reactor Physics for an advanced nuclear technology company, which would be a great opportunity for someone with experience in neutronics, shielding, and criticality safety looking to further their career in advanced reactor design.

•      Perform neutron and gamma transport calculations for dose rates, heating, material damage, and shielding requirements

•      Support reactor core design refinement and radiation shielding design

•      Perform criticality safety calculations for fresh and used fuel

•      Develop, verify, and validate computational tools; mentor junior engineers and support licensing documentation

Essential Qualifications

•      7+ years of reactor physics experience (5+ with MS); 12-15 years targeted; strong Monte Carlo skills (Serpent, SCALE, or MCNP)

•      Experience in reactor design, radiation shielding, or criticality safety; strong programming skills, Python preferred

•      Bachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering or a related field

Bonus Qualifications

•      Nuclear software verification and validation experience

•      HTGR or gas-cooled reactor knowledge

•      Regulatory licensing documentation experience
