Nuclear Medicine Technologist – Travel Assignment

Location: Bloomington, Indiana
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks


Schedule

  • Shift Type: Day Shift
  • Schedule: 5x8-Hour Shifts
  • Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 Hours Weekly
  • Call Requirement: Weeknight and weekend call required

Position Overview

"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Bloomington, Indiana. This role involves working within a busy 3-room imaging unit serving inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department populations.

The ideal candidate will have strong nuclear medicine imaging experience, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced community hospital environment.


Key Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging

  • Perform a variety of Nuclear Medicine procedures including:
    • Bone Scans (Whole Body & 3-Phase)
    • Thyroid Studies
    • Lung Scans
    • Liver/Spleen Imaging
  • Ensure high-quality image acquisition and accurate patient positioning

Nuclear Cardiology

  • Conduct myocardial perfusion imaging procedures
  • Assist with pharmacological and exercise stress testing

Patient Care

  • Manage approximately 13–15 patients daily across:
    • Adolescent
    • Adult
    • Geriatric populations
  • Educate and prepare patients for imaging procedures
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort throughout exams

Clinical Support

  • Perform venous blood draws and IV starts for radiopharmaceutical administration
  • Maintain IV access and monitor patients during imaging procedures

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials
  • Follow PPE, isolation precautions, and radiation safety protocols
  • Maintain accurate imaging and patient documentation within PACS and EMR systems

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of Nuclear Medicine experience required
  • Community Hospital experience required
  • First-time travelers accepted

Licensure & Certifications

  • NMTCB Certification OR ARRT (N) Certification required
  • Current AHA BLS Certification required

Technical Skills

  • IV Start proficiency required
  • PACS experience required
  • Cerner EMR experience preferred
  • Siemens imaging equipment experience preferred
