DUTIES
Developmental position for individuals with the demonstrated ability to obtain a Senior Reactor Operator license. May be responsible for various support activities while developing a familiarity with the plant. May be assigned to work with shift crews to gain additional knowledge and experience. Will participate in training to obtain an SRO license. Part of the training is classroom but much of the training will occur through self-study as the participant deems appropriate to achieve satisfactory scores in the training program. This position provides an opportunity for development for key nuclear site management level position(s).
Incumbent will participate in classroom and other developmental activities leading to obtaining a Senior Reactor Operator License. These may include but are not limited to the following areas:
QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. Degree in engineering, engineering technology or one of the physical sciences with greater than three years responsible nuclear plant experience; or currently hold a Reactor Operator license with one or more years of experience; or two years or more in a position equivalent to Reactor Operator in the military including: Propulsion Plant Watch Supervisor, Propulsion Plant Watch Officer, Engineering Watch Supervisor, Engineering Officer of the Watch. DD-214 and Page 4 dates are required to validate this. Must meet requirements in TPD-ILT.
Must participate in the TVA Senior Reactor Operator Training Program and successfully complete the requirements for an NRC Senior Reactor Operator license within the prescribed time periods as set out in the Nuclear Power Policy on Initial Licensing.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Under the immediate supervision of the Manager, Shift Operations Training Support and/or the Superintendent, Nuclear Operations and general supervision of their assigned Training Instructor.
SUPERVISION OVER OTHERS
May direct the work of one or more trainee operators and other employees as assigned.
