Nurse Extern, PRN

Position Highlights:

• Position: Student Nurse Extern
• Location: Community Hospital (Onsite Only)

Responsibilities:

• Perform tasks that are routine, repetitive and require no nursing judgement.
• Basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by a Registered Nurse (RN), including but not limited to, monitoring vital signs, taking blood glucose measurements, and recording intake and output.
• Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living, including but not limited to, bathing, grooming and eating.
• Assist with transportation of patients.
• Watching patients at Fall Risk, in their room.
• Specimen collection and supplies.
• Clean and stock the department and patient rooms.
• Participate as an active member of the health care team and positively promotes the rest of the team to patients/families/caregivers and other colleagues.

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a formal Board of Nursing approved undergraduate academic Nursing Program leading to a degree in nursing.
• Completion of at least three (3) semesters of Nursing School and in Good Academic Standing.
• Must be in last semester of school.
• Current BLS Certification required
• Able to work 24 hours per month while in school

Compensation:

• The anticipated compensation range for this position is $19.00–$21.85 per hour, commensurate with qualifications, education, experience, and other applicable factors.
• This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act.
• Additional compensation may be available in the form of discretionary incentive or other compensation programs. Any such additional compensation is not guaranteed and is determined at the sole discretion of the organization based on applicable program terms, individual and/or organizational performance, and other eligibility requirements.

Additional Information:

• Relocation: Must relocate to Grand Junction, CO 81505 before starting work.
• Work Location: In-person/onsite
