Location: Atlanta, Georgia
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday; occasional flexibility based on patient and practice needs

Position Overview

A well-established practice in Atlanta, Georgia, is seeking a compassionate and highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join its clinical team. The Nurse Practitioner will provide comprehensive care to patients with neurological disorders, working collaboratively with neurologists, nurses, medical assistants, and other healthcare professionals.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and a patient-centered approach to care. This position offers an opportunity to support patients across the continuum of neurological diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical histories and physical examinations.

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with neurological conditions.

  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and clinical findings.

  • Provide ongoing management for acute and chronic neurological disorders.

  • Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging.

  • Prescribe medications and treatments in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and practice protocols.

  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, lifestyle modifications, and disease management.

  • Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as clinically appropriate.

  • Collaborate with neurologists and other members of the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.

  • Document patient assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.

  • Respond to patient questions and medication-related concerns in a timely and professional manner.

  • Participate in care coordination, referrals, and communication with primary care providers and specialists.

  • Maintain current knowledge of evidence-based practices, neurological conditions, and advances in treatment.

  • Promote quality, safety, compliance, and patient satisfaction throughout the care delivery process.

  • Perform other clinical duties consistent with the scope of practice and needs of the organization.

Preferred Clinical Experience

Experience caring for patients with one or more of the following is preferred:

  • Epilepsy and seizure disorders

  • Headache and migraine disorders

  • Multiple sclerosis

  • Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders

  • Neuropathy and neuromuscular conditions

  • Stroke and cerebrovascular disorders

  • Dementia and cognitive disorders

  • Sleep-related neurological conditions

  • Concussion and traumatic brain injury

  • General neurological complaints

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.

  • Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in the State of Georgia.

  • Current Basic Life Support certification.

  • Prescriptive authority or eligibility to obtain prescriptive authority in Georgia.

  • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and treatment-planning skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication abilities.

  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and standard clinical technology.

  • Ability to work independently while functioning effectively as part of a collaborative healthcare team.
