We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner specializing in Gastroenterology to join an Article 28 facility located in Brooklyn, New York. This role focuses on providing specialized gastrointestinal care to patients in a collaborative outpatient setting.

Qualifications:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or higher from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
New York State NP license; Board Certified as an NP.
Gastroenterology experience preferred, ideally at least 1 year.
Must be credentialed with Medicaid.
Bilingual in Spanish.
Proficient in gastrointestinal assessments, diagnostic testing, medication management, and electronic health records.
Strong clinical judgment, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, empathy, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive gastrointestinal assessments, including patient histories, physical examinations, and focused GI evaluations.
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions such as GERD, peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and liver disorders.
Order, interpret, and analyze diagnostic tests including endoscopy, colonoscopy, imaging studies (CT, MRI, ultrasound), and laboratory analyses.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, including medication management, dietary modifications, and lifestyle interventions.
Prescribe medications as appropriate, including proton pump inhibitors, immunomodulators, and anti-inflammatory agents.
Educate patients and families on gastrointestinal conditions, treatment options, preventive care, dietary changes, and post-procedure follow-up.
Collaborate with gastroenterologists, primary care physicians, and other specialists to ensure coordinated, whole-person care.
Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in electronic medical records.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and team meetings as appropriate.
Stay current with advancements in gastroenterology through continuing education and collaboration with supervising physicians.
