    Job Description

    Nurse Practitioner:

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Nurse Practitioner (NP), under the direction of the Medical Director/Supervising Physician and/or the Nurse Manager, is a Registered Nurse who possesses additional clinical and didactic education to function at an advanced level of nursing practice. They will be clinically competent in physical diagnosis, psychosocial assessment and management of health-illness needs to provide direct patient care and education to patients, families, students, and nursing staff. May act as a first assistant to the supervising surgeon if qualified and certified. The NP consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.

    This is a clinic-based/shift work position

    EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
    Minimum:
    Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner program

    Desired:
    Masters prepared
    Recent experience in Urogynecology

    LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
    Current licensure with the California Board of Registered Nursing
    Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner with the California Board of Registered Nursing
    Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner Furnisher with the California Board of Registered Nursing
    Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application
    Meets Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) criteria to bill Medicare
    Current AHA-HCP CPR recognition
    Current ACLS recognition (within 6 months of hire)
    Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff office and Finance office
    Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) (if acting as a first assistant)

    SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
    Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals and community resources. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must have the ability to lead, motivate, delegate, analyze information and problem solve. Behavior should be reflective of Enloe Medical Center core values.

    Physician Assistant:

    POSITION SUMMARY:
    The Physician Assistant (PA) provides and coordinates direct patient care and may act as a first assistant to the supervising surgeon. The PA provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventative healthcare service, as delegated by a physician. The PA will report to the Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic leadership for all employee/employer issues regarding departmental and organizational operations. The PA consistently demonstrates the core values of Enloe Medical Center and serves as a role model to other employees.

    EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE:
    Minimum:
    Graduate of a PA educational program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission (ARC) on Education for Physician Assistants (or its predecessor agency) OR current certification with the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

    Desired:
    One-year clinical experience as a Physician Assistant in an acute care facility
    Recent experience in specialty area
    Bilingual in Spanish desirable

    LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS:
    Minimum:
    Current California Physician Assistant License
    Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant (NCCPA), if not a graduate from an accredited ARC Physician Assistant educational program
    Current CPR recognition
    Advanced Cardiac Life Support within 6 months of hire
    Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) number or proof of application
    Meets Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to bill Medicare
    Credentialed through the Enloe Medical Staff Office and Finance Office

    SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES:
    Must have the confidence and experience to work independently with diverse patient populations and experience in accessing specialty referrals and community resources. Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally. Must demonstrate technical competence, professional clinical judgment, communication skills and sensitivity for the patient and family in crisis.
