Qualifications
Education • Massachusetts Masters Degree Nursing or Massachusetts Masters Degree Physician Assistant required.
Licenses and Credentials • Massachusetts Advanced Practice Registered Nurse or Massachusetts Physician Assistant required.
Experience • 2 years of licensed APP experience required, 5 yrs clinical APP experience in an acute care setting preferred. • Demonstrated experience as a responding clinician in an acute care setting preferred. • Experience in medical or oncology focused infusion preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition & interpret findings. • Ability to maintain quality control standards. • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures. • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

PRIMARY RESPONSBILITIES: • Infusion Center APP is responsible for the care of medicine patients in the outpatient/procedural setting • The APP will oversee the care of patients with complex medical diagnoses, serving as a first responder for acute reactions and medical emergencies • Works collaboratively with longitudinal medical teams and nursing staff to ensure continuity of care across the care continuum • Provides consultation to both nurses and providers to maintain and improve access to infusion services • Serves in appropriate intra and interdepartmental committees • Collaborates with unit staff, Professional Development Managers, APP Leader, Nurse Director and other health care professionals to meet staff and patient educational needs • Monitors patient outcomes in accordance with defined standards of patient care • Facilitates patient movement through the system and efficient use of resources through interdepartmental collaboration • Supports educational efforts to advance knowledge and promote education-based practice • Evaluates own practice and program effectiveness • Responsible for own professional growth and maintenance of required credentials
