1. Preforms bedside wound/ostomy patient/family education. 2. Rounding and care of patients through performance of clinical duties and the development of treatment plans to facilitate the continuum of care. 3. Assists with diagnosis, treatment, and management of acute and chronic wounds and ostomy management. 4. Orders, performs and interprets laboratory and radiology test with scope of professional practice 5. Prescribes medications including controlled substances to the extent delegated and licensed. 6. Orders treatments and durable medical equipment as indicated. 7. Performs other therapeutic or corrective measures as indicated, including bedside debridement of inpatient, outpatient and urgent care issues. 8. Consults with physician or designees as needed, informs primary physician of services provided and collaborates with other physicians as needed. 9. Assists in all facets of care coordination for wound/ostomy referrals. 10. Prepares and maintains accurate patient records, charts and documents to support sound medical practice and reimbursement for services provided. 11. Complies with applicable laws and regulations with respect to collaborative agreements. 12. Initiates reimbursement for services rendered. 13. Provides training and continuing education to staff. 14. Assists in development of clinical practice guidelines/standards in support of quality wound/ostomy care. 15. Adheres to the practice of confidentiality regarding patients, families, staff and the organization. 16.
