Under the direction of the Nurse Manager Clinical Leader andor Staff RN and in accordance with approved policies and procedures the nursing assistantunit clerk performs various patient care activities necessary to address the personal needs and comfort of patients. Heshe participates in non-professional services including time management organizational skills computer skills and communication skills to ensure the smooth coordination of the nursing station. Heshe acts as a resource for patients families physicians and hospital staff and assists in promoting and maintaining positive relations between the nursing unit and all hospital departments. Heshe participates in unit activities as a team member as assigned. The nursing assistantunit clerk will maintain patient confidentiality and provide safe quality patient care. Heshe will maintain an appropriate level of knowledge and expertise through continuing education in-service programs departmental competencies and self-development activities. Heshe will function as part of the multi-disciplinary team and support all staff as necessary.
