Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and oversight of hospital operations during assigned shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ensure safe, high-quality patient care by monitoring clinical practices and regulatory compliance
  • Respond to patient care issues, incidents, and emergencies, supporting clinical decision-making as needed
  • Coordinate staffing across departments based on patient acuity and census, including assignments and coverage adjustments
  • Supervise nursing and support staff, providing guidance, coaching, and real-time support
  • Serve as the administrative leader in the absence of department leadership
  • Ensure adherence to hospital policies, procedures, and standards
  • Document and communicate key shift updates, incidents, and operational changes
  • Collaborate with physicians and department teams to resolve issues and support coordinated care
  • Participate in quality improvement and regulatory readiness initiatives

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) required
  • 5–7 years of nursing experience, with leadership experience preferred
  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • BLS required; ACLS/PALS preferred
