Are you an LPN or RN student or recent nursing school graduate looking to expand your understanding of senior living, resident wellness, and person-centered care? Are you passionate about helping people live fully, with dignity, independence, and meaningful connections?
Daylesford Crossing invites you to explore the connection between nursing, wellness, and quality of life through our eight-week Wellness Internship Program!
This structured learning experience offers the opportunity to work alongside our Director of Wellness and collaborate with associates across Connections, Dining, and other departments. You’ll gain valuable insight into how wellness, engagement, individualized care planning, and interdisciplinary teamwork come together to support the whole person.
At Juniper Communities, our mission is to nurture the spirit of life. We believe every individual deserves opportunities to maintain an active body, an engaged mind, and a fulfilled spirit. As an intern, you’ll discover how that philosophy comes to life in a senior living community.
Whole-person wellness: Explore how physical, emotional, cognitive, social, and spiritual well-being contribute to quality of life.
Person-centered care: Learn how individual preferences, abilities, interests, and routines shape the resident experience.
Wellness and care planning: Observe how wellness programming aligns with individualized goals, resident safety, documentation, and regulatory expectations.
Healthy aging and safety: Explore fall-prevention education, nutrition, hydration, mobility awareness, and safe participation in wellness programs.
Memory, connection, and engagement: Discover how creative expression, meaningful activities, and social relationships support well-being.
Interdisciplinary collaboration: Learn how Wellness, Connections, Dining, nursing, and community leadership work together to support residents.
Leadership and innovation: Develop a wellness initiative and present your recommendations to community leaders.
Each week builds on the last, helping you connect your nursing education with real-world observations and professional development.
You’ll work toward meaningful projects, including a resident wellness journey review, a proposed engagement initiative, and a final wellness improvement proposal.
This opportunity is open to individuals who:
Are currently enrolled in an LPN or RN nursing program or are graduates of an LPN or RN nursing program.
Have an interest in senior living, healthy aging, wellness, or person-centered care.
Are compassionate, dependable, curious, and eager to learn.
Enjoy communicating and collaborating with people from different backgrounds.
Want to understand how wellness and clinical care complement one another.
Value resident dignity, privacy, personal choice, and independence.
At Juniper, learning goes beyond observing daily routines. You’ll have opportunities to ask questions, collaborate with experienced leaders, contribute ideas, and develop a deeper understanding of the many factors that influence quality of life.
You’ll also strengthen your professional communication, interdisciplinary teamwork, critical thinking, program development, and leadership skills—all valuable as you prepare for or continue your nursing career.
This is an unpaid, educational internship lasting eight weeks, with a part-time schedule of approximately three days per week.
All activities take place under appropriate staff supervision. Interns will not independently perform clinical duties, administer medications, make clinical decisions, independently assess residents, or provide clinical advice. Access to resident records or care planning discussions is permitted only when authorized and in accordance with Juniper’s privacy policies.
Participation in this program does not replace required nursing clinical rotations or guarantee future employment.
If you’re currently studying nursing or have recently graduated from an LPN or RN program and want to better understand the relationship between nursing, wellness, and quality of life, we’d love to hear from you.
