    Job Description:

    As part of METLEN"s continued growth across Europe, we are seeking an experienced O&M Senior Technician for our Energy Projects in Bulgaria.

    Your Role will encompass:s

    • Monitoring & Performance Analysis: Monitor solar PV system performance through remote monitoring platforms and site inspections. Analyse energy production and performance data, identify deviations, conduct root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
    • Preventive & Corrective Maintenance: Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans in line with O&M contracts to maximise system availability and minimise downtime. Coordinate maintenance activities with site engineers, technicians, subcontractors, and the O&M Supervisor, and take ownership of scheduling when required. Diagnose and resolve electrical, mechanical, and control issues across PV equipment, including inverters, transformers, and switchgear.
    • System Optimisation: Identify opportunities to improve system efficiency, energy yield, and operational costs. Recommend and implement system upgrades, modifications, and monitoring software or hardware updates.
    • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all activities comply with applicable HSE requirements and local and international standards (including IEC and NEC). Ensure the safe operation of high-voltage equipment and adherence to appropriate lockout/tagout procedures.
    • Reporting & Documentation: Support the O&M Supervisor in preparing reports on project performance, technical availability, maintenance activities, and downtime. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inventories, and spare parts. Ensure the CMMS is updated regularly and supports the effective generation of preventive and corrective maintenance reports. Report safety incidents, near misses, and environmental concerns.
    • Team Coordination & Technical Support: Coordinate with O&M teams, contractors, engineers, suppliers, and manufacturers to ensure smooth operations. Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and junior engineers, and support warranty claims, spare parts management, and technical troubleshooting.
    • Environmental Compliance: Ensure O&M activities comply with applicable environmental regulations and policies, including waste management and minimising environmental impact. Support environmental assessments and implement required corrective actions.

    What you bring to the role:

    • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical field
    • 3+ years of relevant experience in solar PV operations and maintenance (O&M), preferably in PV projects
    • Strong technical knowledge of PV systems
    • Experience in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and root cause analysis
    • Familiarity with PV monitoring platforms
    • Experience coordinating with technicians, subcontractors, suppliers, and O&M teams
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a hands-on and proactive approach
    • Good communication and reporting skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
    • Fluency in English and willingness to travel to PV project sites as required
