Description

Position OverviewResponsible for the coordination and execution of the OASE program. Work with National OA staff and the Summit to deliver a program that promotes the values and traditions of the OA.Key ResponsibilitiesTrain Foreman to deliver the OASE ProgramingCoordinate the support of groups in the field with food, water, equipment, including the National Park ServiceCommunicate with scouts and parents prior to arrivalObserve and Coach staff throughout the season with the goal of improving performancePerform written staff evaluations at the mid-season point and at the end of the seasonModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 21+Preferred: Trail building experience Required 1+ yr. leading teams, Prefer 1+ Summit employmentAbility to pass Red Cross First Aid, Wilderness First Aid and CPR Certifications (training provided)Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
