OA Summit Experience Foreman

Position OverviewLead groups of participants through a weeklong experience at The Summit Bechtel Reserve that involves trail building, participating in Summit activities and reinforcing the values of the OA.Key ResponsibilitiesLead groups of scouts through the OASE programSupport other OASE groups in the field when you are not assigned to a crew. Instruct scouts on proper and safe trail building while monitoring their general safety and healthWork with OASE and Summit leadership to address any issues that might ariseModel the Scout Oath and Law in daily interactionsMaintain a clean, organized, inspected, neat, and safe work areaPerform additional duties assigned by SBR leadershipAbide by policies and procedures outlined in the SBR staff handbookQualificationsMinimum age: 21+Required: Member of the Order of the ArrowRequired: Comfortable in remote settings for extended time periodsPreferred: Trail building experience Ability to obtain Red Cross First Aid, Wilderness First Aid, and CPR Certifications (Training provided)Willing to become a registered Scouting America member (includes background screening)Comfortable using Microsoft Teams for daily work-related communicationPhysical & Practical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and hike up to 9 hours daily and ability to lift/move up to 70 poundsComplete the Annual Health and Medical Record, including height/weight guidelinesHousing: 10'x12' platform tent in Staff Camp | Uniform: Summit Staff Uniform | Work Hours: 45-55Desired TraitsHigh emotional intelligence (such as self/social awareness and team dynamics)Positive and cheerful attitude with a strong customer-service focusAdaptability in a fast-paced environment with ability to learn/develop hard and soft skillsAbility to connect with individuals from diverse age groups, maturity, and backgrounds
