Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced OB-GYN Physician to provide comprehensive inpatient, outpatient, surgical, obstetric, and gynecologic services at a medical facility in Fort Stewart, Georgia.

The physician will provide care for routine and complicated pregnancies, women's reproductive health conditions, prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care, as well as routine care of the normal neonate.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations.
• Order and interpret appropriate laboratory and diagnostic imaging studies.
• Diagnose and treat diseases and conditions of the female reproductive system.
• Develop and implement appropriate treatment, therapy, and follow-up plans.
• Provide prenatal, perinatal, and postnatal care for routine and complicated pregnancies.
• Perform obstetric and gynecologic surgical procedures as required.
• Provide appropriate patient education regarding medications, limitations, treatment, and follow-up.
• Refer patients to specialists and consultants when appropriate.
• Respond to hospital medical emergencies and provide resuscitative treatment as required.
• Provide clinical consultation to Nurse Midwives, Nurse Practitioners, and other clinical staff.
• Maintain complete and accurate medical records and timely surgical documentation.
• Remain on-site or immediately available during scheduled shifts, except when responding to emergencies.
• Participate in primary and secondary/backup on-call responsibilities.

Required Qualifications

• M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
• Successful completion of postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Valid, unrestricted medical license in at least one U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
• Minimum of 1 year of OB-GYN experience within the last 2 years as a full-scope OB-GYN physician.
• Board Eligible or Board Certified by the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology (ABOG).
• Current and valid DEA registration.
• Current American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Schedule:

• Approximately 14 clinic days per schedule.
• Includes approximately 1 3 operating room days.
• One weekend of primary in-house call, consisting of two 12-hour shifts.
• Two weeknight primary call shifts.
• L&D and ER/other consultation coverage as assigned.
• Secondary/backup beeper call on a rotating basis.
• Backup call requires a 30-minute response time.
• Approximately 11 days off, including most weekends.
