Description:
Birch Agency is seeking a dedicated and compassionate
Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide support within a school district in
Apple Valley, Minnesota. This is a
part-time, in-person opportunity serving approximately
26 students receiving occupational therapy services. Due to missed service minutes earlier in the school year, the position will begin at
3 days per week to provide make-up services, with the anticipated long-term schedule transitioning to
2 consistent days per week. The ideal candidate will have experience with the IEP process and a passion for helping students develop the skills needed to succeed in the classroom and school environment while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
Provide occupational therapy services to approximately 26 students receiving OT services within the district.
Conduct evaluations and assessments to identify students' functional and educational needs.
Develop and implement individualized therapy plans and IEP goals.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, administrators, and related service providers to support student success.
Maintain accurate documentation, progress reports, and compliance with district and state requirements.
Support students in developing fine motor, sensory, self-care, and classroom participation skills.
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to student programming and progress monitoring.
Qualifications:
Current Minnesota Occupational Therapist license.
Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
Previous school-based or pediatric experience preferred.
Familiarity with the IEP process and special education services required.
Candidates with IEP experience through early intervention or pediatric settings are encouraged to apply.
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
Ability to work effectively with students with diverse educational and developmental needs.
Ability to work independently, as limited direct OT support may be available.
