    ANNOUNCEMENT OF VACANCY

    Occupational Therapist

    Hazel Park School District

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Full approval/licensure from Michigan's Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA).
    • Significant experience and/or coursework in related fields.
    • Related academic endorsements preferred.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Ability to evaluate students and prepare appropriate therapy plans.
    • Provide staff and community resource specific to certification(s).
    • Provide therapy as determined by IEP, therapy plan, or behavior intervention plan.
    • Assist in conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing/implementing Behavior Intervention Plans.
    • Determine appropriate treatment plans through documented evaluations and consultations.
    • Provide training on use of necessary occupational therapy equipment and strategies as deemed appropriate.
    • Carefully document all services provided in an effective and clear manner.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom-based activities and sensory strategies/interventions.
    • Meet the needs of all students effectively by working in partnership with other disciplines.
    • Comply with policies established by federal and state law, State Board of Education rules, and school policy.
    • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of research, theories, and practices associated with therapy in the school-based setting.

    Reports To: Director of Student Services.
