    Position Overview:

    We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our district. The Occupational Therapist will provide evaluation, consultation, and direct intervention services to students in preschool through eighth grade across a continuum of educational settings. The successful candidate will support students within general education classrooms, resource room programs, Learning and/or Language Disabilities (LLD) classrooms, and Autism programs. The Occupational Therapist works closely with teachers, administrators, child study team members, related service providers, and families to develop individualized interventions that enable students to access and participate meaningfully in their educational environment.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Evaluate students referred for occupational therapy services in accordance with special education regulations

    Develop, implement, and monitor individualized occupational therapy goals and interventions as part of students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

    Provide direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students across preschool through eighth grade

    Support students in developing fine motor, visual-motor, sensory processing, self-regulation, executive functioning, self-care, and classroom participation skills

    Collaborate with general education teachers, special education teachers, child study team members, speech-language pathologists, physical therapist, behavior specialists, and administrators to implement effective interventions

    Recommend classroom accommodations, adaptive equipment, environmental modifications, and sensory supports that enhance student participation

    Consult with staff regarding strategies to support students in general education, resource room, LLD, and autism classroom settings

    Maintain accurate documentation, treatment notes, progress reports, and evaluation reports

    Participate in IEP meetings, eligibility meetings, parent conferences, and multidisciplinary team meetings

    Provide training and education to school personnel and families regarding occupational therapy strategies and supports

    Stay current with best practices, evidence-based interventions, and legal requirements related to school-based occupational therapy

    Qualifications:

    Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.

    Current NJDOE Occupational Therapist license

    School-based experience working with preschool and elementary/middle school students

    Strong collaboration, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
