POSITION: Occupational Therapist REPORTS TO: Director of Special Education DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Be licensed by the State of Michigan and renewed per state requirements.
2. Earned a degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited college or university and successfully completed the national occupational therapy registration examination.
3. Valid Michigan driver's license and ability to commute between assigned schools in the downriver area.
4. Ability to work with students with a range of abilities.
5. Ability to effectively determine the unique needs of a student.
6. Ability to effectively communicate and develop rapport with students, staff, and parents.
7. Effectively create and encourage an environment that is respectful, supportive, inclusive, and flexible for every student.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:

1. Develop therapeutic interventions that assist eligible students to maximize their ability to function in an education program.
2. Assess the student's educationally relevant needs and help determine if there are deficits and/or barriers that interfere with school performance and learning.
3. Program Planning: Through the IEP, the therapy intervention plan outlines the performance objectives to accomplish specific goals and functional outcomes. Monitoring of service delivery occurs to ensure students receive services in the LRE.
4. Safe, effective, and timely delivery of evidence-based services provided based on student's needs, goals, and performance outlined in IEP.
5. Complete and participate in the IEP and MET. Maintain timely management and notes, progress reports, and Medicaid Documentation.
6. Duties may require traveling to surrounding districts and working in a variety of schools. Services may include providing homebound services per IEP.

BASE RATE OF PAY: Per TFT Contract [$50,335.00 - $106,667.00] years of experience will be taken into consideration.
