The Occupational Therapist (OT) is responsible for all aspects of occupational therapy service delivery and is accountable for safety and effectiveness of the occupational therapy service delivery process. Occupational Therapy services can be provided for habilitation, rehabilitation and promotion of health and wellness for clients with disabilities and non-disability related needs. Services promote acquisition and preservation of occupational identity for those who have or are at risk for developing an illness, injury, disease, disorder, condition, impairment, disability, activity limitation or participation restriction. The OT will work with their client/family/caregivers to promote client participation in their everyday life occupations, specific to their age, context and life situation.

Responsibilities

Intentional selection, implementation and modification of interventions specific to patient/client condition and progress, including delegating and supervising support staff. May be performed in individual or group setting, depending on specialty.
Efficiently completes documentation and billing in accordance with regulatory standards and policies exhibiting an understanding of requirements and ethical practice.

Credentials:
Licensed Occupational Therapist in state(s) of practice.
Basic Life Support
American Heart Association
IA Child Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care.
IA Adult Dependent Abuse Mandatory Reporter Training in state(s) where providing care
Knowledge & Skills:
Speaks, reads, writes and comprehends the English language fluently
Basic computer skills: Microsoft Office, EMR, etc.
Regulatory and Accreditation Compliance: Practices and reflects knowledge of HIPAA, TJC,
DNV, OSHA and other federal/state regulatory agencies guiding healthcare.
