    Ocean Import Coordinator Leading Freight Forwarder

    Role Overview

    As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing the full-cycle import process for ocean shipments. From coordinating with overseas agents to ensuring timely customs clearance and final delivery, youll play a critical role in ensuring our clients cargo arrives safely, on time, and in compliance with all regulations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Manage end-to-end ocean import shipments from origin to final delivery

    • Liaise with overseas agents, carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies

    • Prepare and review documentation (e.g., ISF filings, arrival notices, customs entries)

    • Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely movement and delivery

    • Maintain communication with clients, providing updates and resolving issues

    • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs regulations and company SOPs

    • Accurately enter and maintain data in the internal TMS

    • Proactively address delays, discrepancies, or exceptions

    Requirements

    • 2+ years experience in ocean import operations (freight forwarding or NVOCC)

    • Strong knowledge of international shipping and customs processes

    • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite

    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

    • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment

    • Knowledge of Cargowise, Descartes, or similar systems is a plus
