Are you a hands-on accountant who enjoys rolling up your sleeves, solving problems, and making an immediate impact? Our client, a growing organization in the Greater Hartford area, is seeking an experienced Accountant to join their team during an exciting period of growth and transformation.
This is a contract opportunity with the potential to become a permanent position for the right individual. You'll play a key role in supporting day-to-day accounting operations while helping the organization navigate a financial system implementation and process improvement initiatives. What You'll Be Doing
- Perform general ledger accounting and maintain accurate financial records.
- Support month-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Assist with accounts payable processing and vendor-related inquiries.
- Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and expense activity.
- Provide support during an ERP system implementation and conversion.
- Help document accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Support financial reporting requests and ad hoc accounting projects.
- Partner with the accounting team to manage a high volume of transactions across multiple systems.
What We're Looking For
- Strong general ledger accounting experience.
- Experience supporting month-end close and account reconciliations.
- Ability to adapt and succeed in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- Experience working through ERP implementations, system conversions, or process improvement initiatives.
- Sage Intacct experience is highly preferred.
- A "jack-of-all-trades" accounting background with the willingness to assist wherever needed.
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effect
