About the Position

This position is based in the Animal Services administrative office within the Public Works Customer Service Center and plays a vital role in supporting both the public and Animal Services operations.

As a member of a small, collaborative team, you'll provide exceptional customer service to community members while delivering administrative support that helps keep the program running smoothly. Responsibilities include processing animal licenses, maintaining case records, tracking and analyzing case outcome data, assisting customers with licensing and citation inquiries, providing dispatch coverage as needed, and supporting a variety of daily operational functions.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, adaptable, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment where excellent customer service, teamwork, and accuracy are essential.

About the Division

The General Services Division is comprised of Fleet Services and Animal Services. Fleet Services is responsible for providing a modern, well-equipped vehicle and equipment fleet that is maintained and utilized at the lowest reasonable cost while minimizing environmental impacts. Fleet and General Services Fund is associated with procurement, maintenance, operation, and replacement of fleet assets and are charged directly to the user department through rental rates. Fleet Services provide vehicles, equipment, maintenance services and fuel to County departments and several Federal, State and local partner agencies. Animal services seeks to ensure public and animal health, safety, and quality of life within the community and works to bring about and to maintain an environment in which people and animals can live harmoniously.

Schedule:Monday/Tuesday/Friday (6.5-hour shifts) 9:00am – 4:00pm with a 30-minute lunch.

*Subject to change seasonally depending on summer Officer patrols, fire seasons, and recognized holidays.

*This position is budgeted for a maximum of 1,040 hours during the fiscal year. *


Training:

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.

Experience:

  • Two years of responsible clerical and office assistance experience
An equivalent combination of experience and training that will demonstrate the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.


Preferred Experiences:

  • Experience in the following programs are preferred: Microsoft Suite (including Teams, Excel), Adobe Pro. 
  • Program use desired: RLID, GIS, PetTrack, and Qless.
