GROUP: Teamsters III - Office Support LEVEL: 15 FLSA STATUS: Nonexempt WORKDAYS PER FISCAL YEAR: 200 HOLIDAYS: 13 SUMMARY: The elementary school office assistant provides general clerical and secretarial support to the school site, communicating information to staff and to the public, providing complete and accurate records and providing information and/or direction as may be requested.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent Three years clerical experience
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Previous experience working in a K-12 public school district Previous experience working with children
CONDITION OF EMPLOYMENT: Criminal background clearance Valid driver's license and proof of insurance First Aid and CPR certification within 90 days of hire All certificates, licenses, endorsements, permits, and vaccines (absent exemption) as required for this position by state and local authorities
KNOWLEDGE OF: Basic math including calculations using fractions, percentages and/or ratios Basic English grammar and punctuation Basic recordkeeping practices Modern office practices and procedures Modern office equipment including microcomputers and related software School attendance records policy and practice School board policies and procedures
ABILITY TO: Communicate effectively verbally and in writing Operate a variety of modern office equipment including microcomputers and related software Maintain effective working relationships with individuals and groups in a multicultural and diverse community Work collaboratively with school and central office administrators, parents, and community members Demonstrate keyboarding skills Organize work, problem solve and select action plans Remain flexible to changes in assignments or situations Attend to detail and follow tasks through to completion Perform basic math calculations quickly and accurately Maintain excellent attendance and punctuality Comply with school board policies and follow administrative procedures
