MassArt Housing and Residence Life, Auxiliary Programs has four parking lots that staff, faculty, students, and guests are able to park in with prior approval. The two lots the Office Assistant will focus on are Ward Street Lot (130 Ward Street) and Greek Orthodox Church (514 Parker Street). The Office Assistant will play an integral role in streamlining parking operations and ensuring continuity in policy and procedure. The Office Assistant will work closely with the Office Coordinator of Auxiliary Programs. TheOffice Assistant will be trained prior to working.

This position would be good for someone who enjoys data analysis and administration, building and enforcing policy and procedure, and working independently with the support of ProStaff.

Compensation
  • Receive an hourly rate of $15.00 per hour and work up to 20 hours per week.
  • Compensation is distributed in the form of a biweekly paycheck.
  • Timesheets must be submitted by Wednesday at 10:00 p.m. via TimesheetX.
Responsibilities
  • Time Commitment
    • 5 to 10 hours a week
    • Schedule is flexible but must have some availability Monday - Friday
  • Parking Audits
    • Count the number of vehicles in the Ward Lot and Church Lot, noting their license plate numbers three times a week, weather dependent.
    • Upload counts into an internal form.
  • Event Attendant
    • MassArt departments host several events during the semester that require a parking attendant to monitor the Ward Street parking lot. The Parking Assistant is stationed in the parking booth (heated and covered), allowing entrance to those who are on the pre-determined guest list.
    • Events are approved on a rolling basis and are usually in the evenings (after 5:00 p.m.).
  • Data Administration
    • Cross reference data to determine authorized and unauthorized vehicles.
    • Send out communications to unauthorized vehicles.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Maintain privacy. You will have access to sensitive and confidential information. Sharing sensitive and/or confidential information with others is unacceptable and may lead to disciplinary action.
  • Role model appropriate behavior. Demonstrate familiarity with MassArts policies, code of student conduct and the applicable residence hall policies.
  • Maintain high personal and ethical standards. Demonstrate behavior with professionalism appropriate to the position. Staff may be subject to termination if they are found to be in violation of any Residence Hall or College policy.
  • Check communication daily. This includes MassArt email, physical mailbox, and other communication points as designated by your supervisor. It is expected that you are able to respond to messages within 48 hours (as necessary).
