Summary:
The student worker in this role will support the Director of Compliance and Legal Affairs in advancing Maryville University's compliance with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements. The position offers hands-on experience in compliance, risk management, and legal operations within a higher education setting, with exposure to policy research, compliance monitoring, training development, and administrative support. Through this work, the student will gain practical insight into how law, ethics, and institutional operations intersect in a university environment.
Job Responsibilities:
Policy & Research Support: Assist in reviewing and updating university policies and procedures. Conduct legal and regulatory research on higher education compliance topics.
Compliance Monitoring: Help track and document compliance with federal, state, and local regulations (e.g., licensure, accreditation, etc.).
Training & Communication: Support the development, communication, and delivery of compliance training materials for faculty, staff, and students.
Risk Management Assistance: Assist with the coordination and development of the ERM system.
Administrative Support: Prepare reports, maintain compliance documentation, and assist with scheduling and meeting logistics.
Collaboration: Connect with campus partners as directed; attend relevant meetings and take minutes.
Special Projects: Assist with the implementation of new regulations and coordinate special initiatives, such as organizing Compliance and Ethics Week and preparing the annual licensure compliance report and launching the office's SharePoint site. Provide project-based research and support for the Finance offices, as time permits.

Familiarity with Microsoft Office and/or legal research tools.

Position Pay: $15/hr
