Job Description
Kforce has a client in Armonk, NY that is seeking an Offshore AI Engineer responsible for end-to-end development, enhancement and productionisation of Trident's GenAI capabilities. The role incorporates the AI Software Engineering scope covering agents, intents, tools, prompts, RAG, backend services and AI features, combined with production-grade Python/FastAPI development, LLMOps, AI quality and observability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop and enhance AI agents and end-to-end agent workflows
- Develop and maintain intents, prompts, tools/function integrations and AI orchestration logic
- Build and enhance RAG and enterprise knowledge-retrieval capabilities
- Develop new AI features and continuously enhance existing Trident capabilities
- Develop and maintain backend services supporting AI agents, conversation flows and integrations
- Develop production-grade Python and FastAPI services
- Build scalable services using asynchronous Python programming, including async/await and concurrent processing patterns
- Design and integrate REST APIs and connect LLMs/agents with enterprise data sources and downstream services
- Engineer solutions using Azure AI Foundry and Azure AI Search
- Support conversation state, context management and agent/service integration patterns
- Develop automated unit, integration, regression and AI evaluation testing
- Establish AI quality controls including groundedness, regression evaluation and guardrails
- Implement AI observability using OpenTelemetry, Dynatrace, Application Insights and Azure Monitor
- Analyse and optimise latency, token consumption, model/API failures, response quality and cost
- Support AI incident analysis, root-cause investigation and continuous engineering improvement
Requirements:
- To be considered for this position, candidates must have experience in a similar role, or they must possess significant knowledge, experience, and abilities to successfully perform the responsibilities listed
- Relevant education and/or training will be considered a plus
- Desirable experience: Microsoft Agent Framework, Model Context Protocol (MCP), Cosmos DB/NoSQL, Redis, APIM, GitHub Actions, responsible AI and FinOps/token-cost optimization
- Strong production-grade Python development experience
- FastAPI and backend/microservice engineering
- Asynchronous programming, async/await and concurrency patterns
- AI agent and agentic workflow development
- Intents, prompts and tool/function development

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
