Position Title: On-call Registered Nurse I

Reports To: Director of Nursing
POSITION SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for providing direct nursing care to a diverse patient population. Responsibilities include medication administration, patient education and counseling, health maintenance, assessment of patient health needs and available resources, and the delivery of appropriate nursing care and interventions to designated patient populations.
As an On-Call Registered Nurse, the employee participates in assigned on-call coverage to support patient care and operational needs. The employee must remain available during assigned on-call periods, respond within established time frames, and report to the designated TTC facility when called to work. On-call assignments may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on operational and patient-care needs.
The position provides services to individuals across one or more age groups, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. The nurse is expected to demonstrate an understanding of the developmental, functional, and age-specific needs of each individual served and to provide care appropriate to those needs. The nurse must also possess the knowledge and skills necessary to assess, treat, appropriately interact with, and provide compassionate care to individuals with mental health and substance use disorders.
ON-CALL SCHEDULE
Shifts will fall between 6pm-6am or 6am-6pm.

CATAGORIES OF DUTIES
Plans and delivers nursing assessments and interventions, related medication, and psychiatric diagnoses of the patient.
Completes pre-admission triage and determines appropriateness of admission.
Administers medications to patients consistent with medication policies, practices, and standards. Must have necessary computer skills to use electronic medication systems.
Competent in basic wound assessment and care.
Communicates significant changes in patient's condition in a timely manner.
Documents in patient's chart nursing goals, interventions, and clinical outcomes. Must be capable of charting in both electronic and manual patient records.
Functions as an active member of the treatment care planning team.
Responds to medical emergency situations.
Competently uses equipment necessary for the delivery of patient care including but not limited to: glucometer, defibrillator, EKG machine, intermittent suction, bag/mask, oxygen, restraints/seclusions.
10.Attends trainings as required for the position.
11.Works collaboratively with the RN Charge Nurse to assure optimum patient outcomes.
12.Able to provide wound care as ordered by a provider.
13.Able to identify and report medical issues observed or determined at admission OR observed or identified by staff and report to the Charge Nurse for follow-up.
14.Able to input notes and take and transcribe provider orders in the electronic medical record or the patient's record.
15.Able to provide report to team regarding patient issues and care needs. 16.Understands the principles and ethics of nursing practice and applies them to daily work assignments.
17.Able to identify possible infections, report and document as appropriate, initiate standard precautions if needed. 18.Administers waived tests (urine pregnancy test, blood glucose test, UA drug screen, breath alcohol test, hemoglobin [HbA1c], and COVID 19 & flu A+B tests) and maintains annual waived testing requirements/trainings.
19.Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned by the Director of Nursing or designee.
