    My AmeriCorps - Home Page One World Link Employment Navigator

    AmeriCorps Employment Navigators with One World Link spend a year helping people find work that changes their lives and build a career while doing so. Navigators serve full time with workforce and community organizations in rural and underserved communities across Georgia, Alabama, Tennessee, Texas, and Florida, working directly with adults and out-of-school youth ages 16 to 24 who are trying to get into the workforce without a guide. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Outreach at schools, community centers, and partner agencies - Intake, assessment, and career planning, including co-developing Individual Employment Plans - Job readiness workshops on resumes, interviewing, digital literacy, financial literacy, and workplace communication - Coordinating work experience, pre-apprenticeships, and on-the-job training - Connecting participants to industry-recognized credential programs - Job development, placement support, and retention coaching after hire - Recruiting and coordinating community volunteers WHAT YOU RECEIVE - Living allowance paid throughout your 1,700-hour term of service - Segal AmeriCorps Education Award on successful completion, for tuition or qualified student loans - Health coverage and childcare assistance if eligible - Student loan forbearance and interest accrual payment on qualified loans - Professional training in career coaching, case management, and workforce systems, plus a national AmeriCorps network WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR People who communicate well, follow through, and like working with people. Lived experience navigating employment barriers is an asset. No prior workforce experience required. We train you. REQUIREMENTS Must be 17 or older, a U.S. citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident, and a high school graduate or GED holder, or willing to earn one.     Member Duties : As an Employment Navigator You will: - Recruit jobseekers through outreach at schools, community centers, faith-based organizations, and partner agencies - Conduct intake, assessment, and eligibility screening, and co-develop an Individual Employment Plan with each participant - Deliver job readiness workshops on resumes, interviewing, digital literacy, financial literacy, and workplace communication - Coordinate work experience, pre-apprenticeships, and on-the-job training - Connect participants to training that leads to industry-recognized credentials - Support job search, employer connections, and placement - Provide retention coaching after participants start work - Recruit community volunteers for job fairs, mentoring, and resume clinics You serve full time at a workforce or community organization, supervised by an OWL Program Manager and supported by site staff. Training is provided. Prior experience is not required.
