Job Statement

Help shape a new open pit operation from the ground up.

Be part of something being built.

There's something special about joining a new mining operation at the beginning of its journey. You have the opportunity to influence how things are done, solve new challenges and see your plans translate into results on the ground.

At Genesis Minerals, we're growing our presence across Western Australia's Goldfields, and our Tower Hill Project is an exciting part of that journey. We're looking for an experienced Open Pit Mine Planning Engineer to join our Technical Services team in Leonora and play a hands-on role in establishing and optimising this new operation.

This is an opportunity to bring your technical expertise, challenge conventional thinking and work alongside a close-knit team where your input will make a tangible difference to the way we mine.

The Opportunity:

As our Open Pit Mine Planning Engineer, you'll be at the centre of the action, translating mine plans into practical, achievable schedules that support safe, productive and cost-effective mining. Working closely with Production, Geology and Survey, you'll help drive the successful execution of the daily and weekly mining plans while adapting to the evolving demands of a new operation.

Tower Hill's proximity to the local community and sensitive receivers adds another dimension to the role. Attention to detail, considered planning and the ability to respond proactively to changing operational conditions will be essential.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Drive short-term mine planning - develop daily and weekly plans, schedules and dig plans that support production targets and operational priorities.
• Make an impact in the field - work alongside the Production team to monitor progress, resolve constraints and keep mining activities aligned with the plan.
• Shape the operation - design and maintain mine infrastructure, including waste dumps, haul roads and access ramps, to support efficient mining.
• Enable precision mining - prepare dig designs, face maps and operator instructions to support selective mining and effective ore extraction.
• Connect planning with execution - upload and manage dig designs and surfaces on mining equipment, ensuring operators have the information they need.
• Collaborate to deliver results - lead planning discussions, establish assumptions with key stakeholders and work closely with Geology, Survey and Production to continually improve plan delivery.

What makes this opportunity different?

Tower Hill is more than another planning role. It's an opportunity to be part of a new operation as it takes shape, helping establish effective planning practices and build the foundations for ongoing success.

You'll have the chance to:

• Make your mark early - contribute directly to how a new open pit operation is planned and executed.
• Own the detail - see your designs and schedules come to life in the field, with direct visibility of their impact on production.
• Solve real operational challenges - balance productivity, selectivity, mine development and environmental considerations in a dynamic operating environment.
• Work across the business - build strong relationships with operational teams and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused culture.
• Grow with Genesis - be part of an expanding gold business with opportunities to develop your capability and career as our operations evolve.

What you'll bring:

You're an experienced Mining Engineer who enjoys being close to the operation, takes pride in producing practical plans and thrives on solving problems in a changing environment. You're comfortable working with production teams, communicating clearly and taking ownership of the detail that makes a plan work.

You'll ideally bring:

• Site-based open pit mining experience, preferably within gold operations.
• Strong technical capability in open pit mine design, scheduling and short-term planning.
• Proficiency in mining software such as Deswik CAD and Sched, with ShotPlus experience an advantage.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with operational data.
• The ability to communicate effectively with Production, Geology, Survey and other stakeholders.
• A proactive, adaptable approach and a genuine interest in helping establish and improve a new operation.
• Power BI reporting experience will be highly regarded.

Why Genesis?

At Genesis Minerals, we're building a progressive, high-quality Australian gold business, with growth across the Leonora and Laverton regions. We're focused on creating an environment where people can contribute, develop their skills and build rewarding careers.

You can expect:

• A strong focus on developing our people and promoting from within.
• Competitive remuneration and salary-sacrificing options.
• A team guided by our ASPIRE values: Accountable, Sustainable, People First, Integrity, Results and Empower.
