Operations Coordinator, Fleet Operations Location: New York, NY (On-site) Pay: $38/hr
About the Role
Icon Consultants is hiring an Operations Coordinator for a leading mobility company in New York, NY. In this role, you’ll keep the client’s highest-priority fleet-based growth products running smoothly. Those products include premium rides, college shuttles, health transportation, and transit.
The job mixes hands-on execution with helping the business scale. You’ll handle the day-to-day work that keeps drivers on the road and riders happy, and you’ll document how things work today so they can be automated later. If you’re organized, proactive, and like solving operational problems, this role is for you.
What You’ll Do
Fleet operations: Manage driver tagging, photo audits, and profile standards so every rider gets a consistent experience.
Onboarding: Resolve background check and document issues quickly to get drivers on the road and meet growth targets.
Compliance: Keep audits complete for specialized drivers (fingerprinted, chauffeur-licensed, and trained). Spot compliance gaps and escalate them.
Payments: Run weekly reconciliation for hourly and per-trip pay models, and make sure payments go out on time and accurately.
Metrics: Track fulfillment rates, cancellation rates, and ETAs in real time, and fix problems drivers and partners run into.
Process improvement: Document workflows and workarounds to help define requirements for future automation.
Launches: Work with internal teams and outside vendors to launch new cities and products.
What You’ll Need
2–3 years of experience in operations, logistics, or project coordination, ideally at a fast-growing company
Independence and a willingness to take on any task the business needs
A track record of solving complex customer problems and working through unclear technical situations
Strong communication skills with operations managers, internal partners, and outside vendors
Close attention to detail, especially with data accuracy and compliance
Nice to Have
Experience in rideshare, delivery, non-emergency medical transport, paratransit, shuttle, or chauffeur services
Background check, driver onboarding, or licensing compliance experience
Experience supporting a city or product launch
Skills in Excel or Google Sheets, SQL, or reporting tools like Looker or Tableau
