The Leadership Role
This position requires a hands-on Operations Manager who is comfortable being actively involved in the day-to-day operation.
You will lead plant operations with responsibility for ensuring that safety, production volume, quality, costs, customer satisfaction, and delivery performance meet or exceed expectations.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading daily plant operations across a multi-shift manufacturing environment
Driving a zero-defect culture in EHS, quality, and productivity
Championing Operational Discipline and a strong safety culture
Coaching shift managers and production personnel to improve performance
Applying Lean principles and visual management tools to improve safety, quality, and productivity
Improving production flow, labor utilization, and overall operational efficiency
Supporting staffing decisions and production planning
Partnering with Supply Chain to achieve SIFOT and customer service goals
Participating in Tier 3 meetings and developing solutions for underperforming KPIs
Managing departmental spending and supporting budget performance
Leading continuous improvement in 5S+1 and housekeeping standards
Supporting EHS requirements and ensuring health and safety responsibilities are met
Serving as backup to the Plant Manager when needed
What We're Looking For
We are looking for a proven manufacturing leader with the ability to lead people, improve processes, and operate effectively in a demanding chemical production environment.
The strongest candidates will bring:
At least five years of leadership experience in chemical production or chemical manufacturing
Experience managing operations in a multi-shift manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of chemical plant operations and industry regulations
Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM)
A demonstrated track record of driving Continuous Improvement and Lean initiatives
Experience using KPIs, cost analysis, and data to improve operational performance
Strong leadership and team development capabilities
Experience with quality systems, including ISO 9001 or a comparable quality management system
Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office
Project management experience
The ability to balance strategic improvement initiatives with the demands of daily operations
A degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Compensation Package
The company is prepared to offer a competitive compensation package that includes:
Base Salary: $130,000–$150,000
Annual Bonus: 12%
Relocation Assistance: Available for the right candidate
