Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented 2nd Shift - Operations Supervisor (Onsite) based at our Avon, Indiana facility.

What You Will Do:

  • Oversee and lead hourly associates and distribution operations across all functional areas, including picking, put‑away, packaging, receiving, and shipping.
  • Provide operational oversight for the entire shift, ensuring appropriate resource allocation to consistently meet daily business requirements with efficiency and high quality.
  • Manage and coordinate multiple processes across all functional areas using a systematic approach.
  • Serve as the shift focal point, handling routine communication and administering disciplinary actions within the team.
  • Partner with Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) and Maintenance personnel to ensure timely issue resolution.
  • Provide shift leadership by planning and directing workforce activities in Receiving, Packaging, Stores, and Shipping areas
  • Adjust priorities as needed based on changing operational conditions to ensure optimal productivity and efficiency.
  • Direct personnel and activities while serving as a secondary point of communication on labor and management issues.
  • Maintain accurate attendance and overtime records and administer disciplinary actions when necessary.
  • Communicate and enforce facility work rules to ensure compliance and consistency.

What You Will Need (Education):

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, Engineering, Technology, Supervision, or a related discipline required; or equivalent experience may be substituted.
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred; or 4-6 years of warehouse operations experience in lieu of a degree.

Skills, Experience & Abilities:

  • 1-2 years of warehouse operations or people management experience required.
  • Strong supervision and communication skills, with the ability to lead and develop teams effectively.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse and distribution operations, including material movement and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with the ability to make sound operational decisions.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems and the ability to utilize system outputs for daily decision-making.
  • Ability to maintain and improve internal processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to conduct meetings and communicate safety, policy, and operational updates effectively.
  • Understanding of Environmental Health and Safety standards and practices.
  • Ability to maintain a clean, organized, and well-maintained warehouse environment.
