The Field Operations Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership, planning, analysis, and operational guidance to support productivity, quality, safety, and customer satisfaction across field operations. This position oversees activities related to construction, installation, repair, maintenance, and equipment deployment while ensuring alignment with company objectives and operational standards.

The Supervisor manages departmental operations, personnel, and performance metrics, translating strategic and operational goals into actionable team objectives. This role provides technical leadership, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and serves as a subject matter expert on complex operational issues and large-scale projects. The successful candidate will regularly collaborate with senior leadership and key stakeholders to achieve regional and enterprise goals.

Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee daily field operations, including construction, installation, repair, maintenance, and equipment deployment activities.
  • Translate organizational and departmental objectives into measurable team goals and performance expectations.
  • Ensure operational excellence through effective resource allocation, workflow management, and adherence to service-level commitments.
  • Monitor operational performance and implement corrective actions to achieve productivity, quality, customer service, and financial targets.

People Leadership

  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop employees to maximize performance and engagement.
  • Conduct performance management activities, including goal setting, KPI monitoring, performance evaluations, coaching, and development planning.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, safety, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Address employee relations matter and provide guidance on performance and behavioral issues.

Financial and Business Management

  • Ensure accountability for operational results, resource utilization, and workforce productivity.
  • Exercise sound judgment in resolving complex operational, technical, and personnel issues.

Continuous Improvement and Analytics

  • Support and lead process improvement initiatives that drive operational efficiencies and contribute to regional and enterprise objectives.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline business processes through best practices, automation, and emerging technologies.
  • Utilize data analytics and reporting tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), operational trends, and customer service metrics.
  • Develop and implement action plans based on performance data to improve operational effectiveness.

Vendor and Project Management

  • Build and maintain productive relationships with contract partners and vendors to ensure alignment with company goals, service standards, and contractual obligations.
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across multiple complex projects and operational initiatives.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of new operational processes, standards, and best practices.

Technical and Organizational Support

  • Serve as an escalation point for operational and technical issues requiring advanced analysis and interpretation.
  • Delegate assignments and provide guidance to team members to ensure successful project and operational outcomes.
  • Support departmental and organizational initiatives through active participation in cross-functional projects and committees.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of field operations, construction, installation, maintenance, and service delivery functions.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, including employee development, performance management, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience using data-driven decision-making to improve operational outcomes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related business applications.

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.
  • Minimum of six (5) years of progressively responsible experience in field operations, telecommunications, construction, maintenance, or related discipline.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory, managerial, or team leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing operational performance metrics and achieving business objectives.

Additional Requirements

  • Valid drivers license with a satisfactory driving record.
  • Ability to travel within the service area as business needs require.
  • Project management experience preferred.

Salary

Pay range (commensurate with skills and experience): $57,279 - $86,832
