Job Summary
The Operations Support Technician is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and reliable process separation equipment (PSD) support to customers. This position provides technical expertise in equipment troubleshooting, repair, preventative maintenance, warranty service, equipment start-up, and field testing.
Job Description
- Demonstrate knowledge and ability to rebuild and maintain centrifuge RTA units as part of the company's centrifuge RTA rebuild program.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and service SWECO equipment and field test equipment.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs to meet customer expectations and company standards.
- Provide on-site customer preventative maintenance (PM) services and warranty support.
- Support equipment start-up activities for larger sifter equipment and other major installations as needed.
- Provide technical assistance to customers and internal teams by phone, fax, email, or other forms of communication.
- Provide technical guidance regarding equipment applications, modifications, and warranty information.
- Develop and maintain an open and effective communication system among Field Sales, Customer Service, Sales Management, and other internal departments to better serve customers and support company objectives.
- Complete technical product reports and document product problems, equipment issues, and service activities.
- Provide sales support by visiting customer sites and conducting field tests on equipment as requested.
- Perform field testing, quality audits, and safety audits as requested.
- Plan and establish work schedules and assignments to effectively meet customer demands.
- Handle additional assignments and requests from management in a timely and professional manner.
- Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, equipment performance, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate service and technical documentation in accordance with company procedures and quality standards.
- Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Skills Required
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical assembly experience required.
- Welding experience required; welding certification and/or completion of a trade school program preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude required; electrical experience or background preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9000 requirements and continuous improvement methodologies preferred.
- Willingness and ability to travel 10–50% of the month, depending on business needs and productivity. Extensive travel may be required as needed.
- Valid driver's license required, with the ability to drive to customer locations as necessary.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid CDL to operate company trucks. CDL may be obtained after hire.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers, sales representatives, and company personnel.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical, administrative, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively with minimal direction and limited guidelines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Technical school, trade school, or vocational training related to manufacturing, machining, quality, metrology, or inspection is preferred.
Salary
- $60k - $70k per year (Compensation is offered based on experience, skills, and market factors)
Additional Requirements
- Schedule: M-F 6:00am - 2:30pm in office,
- Travel is required for this position and will most likely result in overtime.
- Travel is required 10-50% of the month.
