New York & New Jersey Eye Institute is seeking a skilled, compassionate, and detail-oriented Ophthalmic Technician to join our growing clinical team. The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologists in delivering exceptional patient care by performing comprehensive ophthalmic testing, preparing patients for examinations and procedures, and ensuring efficient clinical workflow in a fast-paced ophthalmology practice.
Key Responsibilities:
Obtain patient medical histories, medications, and chief complaints while performing patient intake.
Measure visual acuity, refraction, intraocular pressure (IOP), pupil assessment, extraocular movements, and other preliminary ophthalmic evaluations.
Perform and accurately document diagnostic testing.
Prepare patients for physician examinations, office procedures, laser treatments, and surgical consultations.
Assist physicians during examinations, in-office procedures, laser treatments, and minor surgical procedures.
