We are a growing plastic surgery practice with an on-site office-based surgical facility in Coral Gables seeking a highly organized and proactive OR Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our operating room.

We are looking for someone who takes ownership, has exceptional attention to detail, enjoys both the clinical and administrative sides of surgical operations, and can ensure that the OR is consistently organized, compliant, fully stocked, and ready for surgery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the daily operations and readiness of the operating room
  • Coordinate OR staff and ensure appropriate coverage for scheduled surgical cases
  • Ensure the OR is properly prepared and fully operational before each surgical day
  • Review surgical charts and documentation for completeness and accuracy
  • Monitor required OR, PACU, anesthesia, sterilization, medication, emergency equipment, and other clinical logs
  • Oversee OR inventory and supply levels, request inventory counts, and coordinate restocking and purchasing with vendors
  • Maintain organization of surgical supplies, medications, implants, equipment, and documentation
  • Ensure medications and controlled substances are appropriately tracked and documented
  • Oversee crash cart and emergency equipment readiness and ensure required checks are completed and documented
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, inspections, servicing, and vendor visits
  • Monitor sterilization processes, documentation, and required testing
  • Help maintain compliance with applicable Florida office-surgery requirements, infection-control standards, and internal policies
  • Maintain continuous readiness for regulatory inspections and compliance reviews
  • Identify missing documentation, incomplete logs, supply shortages, or operational issues and ensure they are corrected promptly
  • Coordinate with the surgeon, anesthesia providers, nursing staff, surgical assistants, and other members of the surgical team
  • Assist with onboarding and maintaining required documentation and credentials for OR personnel
  • Develop and improve OR workflows, checklists, and processes in collaboration with leadership
  • Provide hands-on OR support when appropriate based on qualifications, training, and scope of practice
  • Serve as the primary point of accountability for ensuring the OR remains organized, efficient, safe, and inspection-ready

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in an operating room, ambulatory surgery center, office-based surgical facility, or similar surgical environment
  • Strong understanding of OR workflow and perioperative operations
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, OR coordination, or management experience strongly preferred
  • Plastic surgery experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of surgical documentation, infection control, sterilization, inventory management, and OR safety practices
  • Excellent organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
  • Proactive problem-solver who follows through and takes ownership of responsibilities
  • Comfortable with technology, digital documentation, spreadsheets, and practice-management systems
  • Ability to work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff

Who We Are Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely enjoys running an OR—not only participating in surgical cases.

You should enjoy organization, documentation, compliance, inventory, checklists, problem-solving, team coordination, and continuously improving how a surgical facility operates.

We value someone who is dependable, detail-oriented, collaborative, adaptable, hands-on, and highly accountable. This position is an excellent opportunity for a surgical professional who wants to take ownership of OR operations and grow with a rapidly developing plastic surgery practice.

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
