OR Tech 2 (Tier 2)

This is an OR Tech 2 (Surgical Technologist) opportunity at a 585+ bed hospital in Kansas City, MO featuring a Level I Trauma Center, Primary Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, and Breast Care Center.

The role. The OR Tech 2 works within the surgical team to set up and maintain the surgical suite with instruments, supplies, and equipment for safe, seamless procedures. In this role, you will scrub in to provide instruments, handle specimens, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team throughout each case. You will also assist with patient transport, positioning, prepping, and draping with attention to comfort and safety, while monitoring patients and equipment and responding promptly to any concerns. As a Tier 2 technologist, you are expected to perform as first scrub in at least three of the following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine, and Vascular Surgery. Room turnover, sterile technique, and contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment are all core to this position.

What we're looking for.

• Must have 1+ years of OR Tech experience
• In addition to meeting the requirements of an OR Tech I position, must also be competent to perform as first scrub in three of the four following specialty areas: Robotic, Total Joints, Neuro/Spine and Vascular Surgery
• Graduate of an accredited school of Certified Operating Room Technicians (CORT)
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) preferred
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required upon hire

Schedule. Nights with rotating weekends, three 12-hour shifts per week, with an on-call requirement.

Compensation. $25.00 - $35.00/hr
