Responsibilities
The Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon is accountable to the Trauma Medical Director, for providing orthopedic coverage consistent with the standards of care of Garnet Health Medical Center. The Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon is primarily focused in the diagnosis and treatment of, the clinical management of, the favorable impact on quality of care of, and is responsible to oversee the total care of, the Orthopedic Trauma patient. The Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon will use a variety of skills to educate, consult and manage the orthopedic patient population and assist the patient/family, the patient care team and other physicians and providers. The Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon will work collaboratively with the health care team including orthopedic nurse practitioners, anesthesiologists, other physicians involved in the orthopedic patient care, nurses, case management, physical and occupational therapy and with departments affecting the care of the Orthopedic Trauma patient. The Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon will act as a clinical educator working with staff on orthopedic competencies, new procedures and advanced practice skills. The Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon will work with the care team to implement necessary medical aspects of care including discharges and pain management. The Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon will use these skills to affect a quality patient experience.

Garnet Health System provides a compensation range to comply with the New York State law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The range for the role is $650,000 through $800,000 annually. The range or contractual rate listed may not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits. When determining a team member's compensation and/or rate, several factors may be considered as applicable (e.g., location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget and internal equity).
