POSITION SUMMARY

OT Assistant Supervisor: To assist the floor supervisor in managing operations of occupational therapy serving a patient population withSpinal Cord Injury (SCI). To plan, organize, and conduct occupational therapy patient programs.

Location: 3425 S Clarkson St, Englewood, CO 80113

Shift:Monday-Friday 8:30 am- 4:30 pm MST

Compensation: $88,920.00-$128.044.80(Exempt)

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensure/Certification/Registrations:
    • Current Colorado OT license required
    • Registered by AOTA as an occupational therapist required.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an OT.
    • SCI/TBI experience preferred (you will be serving a SCI patient population)
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, including listening and conflict resolution.
    • Excellent organization and customer service skills.
    • Ability to successfully handle multiple priorities and prioritize and schedule accordingly while meeting established deadlines.
    • Must have the ability to handle highly confidential information. Ability to work effectively with a wide variety of individuals and groups.
      Must be able to successfully and effectively communicate with a variety of personnel.
    • The ability to work independently with limited supervision. Able to maintain a high degree of accuracy, dependability, and strong attention to detail both mechanically and technically.
    • Possess above average problem-solving skills, judgment, and flexibility.
    • General knowledge of extracting information from database systems preferred.
    • Strong computer skills with excellent skills in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PPT) required.
    • Bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Reviews physician referral and all medical records pertaining to patient's condition.
  • Evaluates and documents patient's physical, emotional/cognitive, perceptual and functional abilities.
  • Plans for and provides occupational therapy treatment programs for patients from evaluations.
  • Provides treatment to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and adapts the plan of treatment as needed.
  • Consults, coordinates, communicates and orally presents patient programs and progress to treating team members.
  • Designs, constructs/adapts and/or prescribes specialized equipment/orthotics to increase an individual's functional independence or physical integrity.
  • Provides written documentation of patient's ongoing progress toward reaching goals (daily, weekly, etc).
  • Teaches patients and families treatment techniques and home program material.
  • Participates in discharge planning, including home checkouts and recommends home modifications.
  • May conduct training, educational programs or orientation for staff, students, visitors or volunteers.
  • Attends educational in-services and maintains knowledge of current treatment trends.
  • Cleans and maintains a safe work area.
  • Performs emergency and safety procedures for the protection of patients, self and others.
  • Assists in department education and development in collaboration with the Director, Education Coordinator, and Asistant Supervisors.
  • Supervises COTA's on the floor; you will be servingaSCI(spinal cord injury) patient population
  • Chart reviews
  • Coordinates Student programs for the floor.
  • Supervises and evaluates OT students at different levels of their training.
  • Assists in orientation and training of new staff
  • Assumes duties of floor supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Provides services to adolescent, adult and geriatric patients and adapts the services as needed.
  • Follows hospital infection control policies, including body substance isolation and proper hand hygiene before and after contact with patients, handling of food, and after hands are contaminated with any body fluids, secretions or excretions.
  • Understands his/her responsibility to inform patients, family and visitors of the importance of hand hygiene in all environments.
