    Job Description

    Overview

The Supervisor of New Store & Rodeo is responsible for overseeing the receiving, ticketing, labeling, staging, and shipping of new store and rodeo receipts within Cavender’s Wilmer distribution facility, ensuring every unit arrives floor-ready for the store or rodeo’s opening day. Unlike steady-state receiving, put away, picking, and outbound, this role runs its own dedicated, self-contained flow from receipt to ship for each store or rodeo project. This role supports the Outbound Manager by leading the New Store & Rodeo team, maintaining ticketing and staging standards, and ensuring every shipment arrives complete, accurate, and on schedule for opening. The Supervisor of New Store & Rodeo plays a key role in training and developing associates, enforcing ticketing and labeling procedures, and serving as the primary point of communication with new store and rodeo teams throughout the process.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Embody the Cavender's Culture. Champion the Mission, Vision, Values, and Brand in every decision and interaction.
    • Run the New Store & Rodeo floor. Supervise daily receiving, ticketing, labeling, and staging operations, keeping the team moving with purpose, accuracy, and urgency.
    • Be the leader your associates need. Show up for your team every shift by training, coaching, and giving the kind of direct, honest feedback that helps people grow.
    • Keep product moving accurately. Own the timely and accurate ticketing, staging, and shipping of new store and rodeo merchandise so stores open with floor-ready inventory, not a backlog.
    • Communicate proactively. Keep new store and rodeo leadership informed of ship status, expected delivery timing, and any issues that could affect opening day, so nobody is caught off guard on go-live.
    • Hold the standard. Make sure ticketing, labeling, and staging SOPs and safety protocols are followed on every shift, by every associate.
    • Organize the shift to win. Manage scheduling, workload distribution, and shift coverage against each store and rodeo's ship and opening dates so the team is always positioned to meet demand.
    • Trust but verify. Validate ticketing and labeling accuracy against the store's assortment plan and catch discrepancies before they become opening-day problems.
    • Solve it on the floor. When ticketing errors, staging shortages, or shipping discrepancies surface, own the resolution, investigate, correct, and follow through.
    • Own your space. Keep ticketing stations, staging lanes, and outbound trailers organized, clean, and ready to run.
    • Keep score. Track productivity and performance metrics daily and give associates the real-time feedback they need to stay on pace and improve.
    • Connect New Store & Rodeo to the broader operation. Stay aligned with inventory control, receiving, put away, and outbound teams so product flows without gaps or delays.
    • Reinforce a culture of safety and compliance. Support company policies and safety standards with the same energy you bring to productivity — because protecting the team is part of the job.
    • Report with clarity. Bring your manager a clear, honest picture of daily progress toward each store and rodeo's ship date, along with issues and performance, to help leadership make good decisions fast.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • 2+ years of experience in warehouse, distribution, or fulfillment operations.
    • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
    • Strong understanding of ticketing, labeling, staging, and warehouse processes.
    • Ability to lead teams, provide training, and manage performance in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to changing operational needs.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and warehouse systems (WMS/OMS).
    • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.

    Preferred Skills

    • Experience in retail or e-commerce distribution environments.
    • Familiarity with ticketing systems, assortment plans, and new store opening timelines.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to ensure accuracy in high-volume operations.
    • Experience training and onboarding new associates.
    • Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple operational teams.
